Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy presents patients with a long lasting, non surgical solution for hair fall which is not being controlled by other forms of therapy. This involves the application of concentrated platelets rich in bioactive proteins, which release growth factors to stimulate cellular regeneration and accelerate tissue repair. These growth factors help in arresting already thinning hair and hence reduce hair fall considerably from the 1st session itself. In subsequent sessions the hairs become thicker and healthier and increase the density on scalp. NOTE: PRP is not an alternative in patients requiring hair transplantation (HT) but an adjunct since the patients requiring HT have most of the times crossed the salvageable stage by non surgical methods. PRP is more useful in early stages of hair loss where there is just diffuse thinning present.
